Welcome to Kindergarten
My name is Mandy McVeigh and I welcome you to one of the most important years of your child's academic journey. Kindergarten is the foundation of your child’s education and I am committed to making it a wonderful experience for each and every one of you. This is my second year teaching at CUS and I am thrilled to be back and moving from 4th grade to K5. I am very passionate about early childhood education and cannot wait to spend the year with your child!
Kindergarten is a year of discovery and exploration. You will find things to be very hands on in our classroom. Your child will have many opportunities to plan, explore, and create. We will be doing lots of movement, art, science, community building, math
and most importantly lots and lots of reading!
There will be many opportunities for parent involvement in the classroom. I will be looking for guest readers and extra hands during literacy centers during the week.
I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce Miss Weis. She is the teacher’s
assistant for 5K and will play a very important role in your child’s day. We are so blessed to have her in the classroom!
