6^th Grade

6^th grade is currently finishing up Literature circles, this is where we read books that are on their level and discuss reading strategies with fellow students.  We will be moving into Reader’s Workshop, this is where students will be reading their choice of books and then working on specific reading strategies and conferencing one on one and receiving individualized instruction.  Be on the lookout next month for their orange folders.

  7^th Grade

7^th grade is now finishing up Reader’s Workshop where they worked on reading strategies such as: character change, prediction, simile, and much much more. They will start working in Literature Circles where they will be working with small groups, reading and talking about books that are at their level.  Be on the lookout for their Language Arts book coming home after the break.

8^th grade

Writing

All students will begin writing various research papers after Christmas Break.  You should be noticing your students bring home their research folder.
